My 20 Hours in Brisbane, Australia
After leaving Surfers Paradise I got back onto the grey hound and headed north to Brisbane. It wasn't until I was on bus and checked my paper work that I realise I was only going to be in Brisbane for 20 HOURS! The lady that helped me book my trip clearly does not like Brisbane.
I didn't know alot about Brisbane before I left Surfers, I used the free wifi on the greyhound to do some Instagram research and checked out local bloggers accounts and the geotaggs for the city to see what I could do in such a short space of time.
i stayed at Base Uptown, which is directly opposite the coach station. I checked in, dropped my bags and headed out to explore. I walked along the sound bank, seeing the BRISBANE sign, and along to the man made beach that has been created along the river.
I carried on walking along to Kangaroo Point, as a running I was told it was a beautiful run along the river, and it was... Until it started to rain. I carried on taking shelter in the many sheltered piers that they had along the track, it was a beautiful sight looking across the river over to the wonderful skyscrapers. When I got back to the hostel it was dark so I headed back to my room to shower, ended up falling asleep, travelling clearly tires me out!
I woke up early the next morning to see cockroaches on my wall... I obviously just got a bad room, but I packed my bags and checked out at 8:30am (checked out is at 10am). I felt my bags and headed down into the shopping district, atleast my early checkout allowed me to see more of Brisbane. My bus was at 10:30am so grabbed a coffee and saw what Brisbane had to offer shopping wise before heading back to collect my bags and get on my bus.
im disappointed I didn't get to spend more time in Brisbane, I think i would have enjoyed it considering how much I enjoyed Sydney and Melbourne. Will hopefully get to next time I'm in AUS
