L'Oreal Colorista Wash Out Hair Colour #PinkHair
I've never been scared of changing my hair colour before, I've been every shade of blonde & brown imaginable (including those dodgy colours in between), so it was only natural there was going to be some progression onto something else one day. I see so many photos on social media - mainly Pintrest) of these girls with bright and colourful hair and would love to try it out, but it's something that has never really gone with my style and now working in an office, i feel it is definitely a big no no.
Since I knew it wouldn’t be appropriate at work, i needed to find something none permanent. I wrote to a few friends that are hairdresser and had a look through the shelves in my local drugstore, but nothing really stood out as special or would have lasted for at least 1 to 2 weeks. I saw a few photo on Nicole Hughes’ (Made in Chelsea) Instagram of her with beautiful pastel pink hair, i was told that pink dye fades really quickly and that i shouldn’t worry about it lasting for too long, which would be fine, if i worked in a bar. I’d seen friends use hair chalks for festivals like Boardmasters but i wanted to try something that would give a stronger colour, if i was going to do it, i was going to do it properly.
I came across L’Oreal Colorista Wash Out Hair Colour via an ASOS window shop, L’Oreal is obviously a well-known brand so i felt it would be an obvious choice and a good starting point. Having read a few reviews i decided it was worth a try and picked out their pastel pink shade to try.
I decided to try out my new look over the August bank holiday weekend, hopefully giving me enough time to fade the colour a little before I have to go back to work on Tuesday.
I absolutely loved the colour this product made my hair. I wanted to continue with the ombre style that my hair was already in. I never dyed my hair on my own before so this was a big challenge for me and I know for next time to have someone around to help me make sure I get the application of product far more even. I felt that I maybe could have done with a bit more in the tube, but I do have very thick hair so I will maybe buy two next time. It was quick and easy to use and I didn’t end up with funny coloured towels or stained clothing which is a big win!
When I purchased this product, I noticed that L’Oreal also sold a shampoo within the collection that aided the fade-out process of the colour, which I obviously picked up just in case the colour was a little harder to budge that I’d hoped.
I was really impressed with this product; it allowed me to try out something a little braver than I could never live with full-time. My hair is naturally very dark, so I've spent so much time and money trying to get it to a shade of blonde that i'm happy with - a lot of this time I've spent with orange hair and my mother saying i look like a Turkish prostitute, so finding a product that wasn't going to waste all my hairdresser's hard work was really important for me. I have now washed my hair 3 times since the initial application and to my surprise my hair is well on its way to being back to its normal shade.
L’Oreal has really knocked this one out of the park, I would definitely recommend this product and I’ll be trying out some of the other colours too! Can’t wait to try the silver and purple shades in the range.
